Invited talk: Slaviša Aleksić – Network technologies for security and privacy preservation in audio- and video-based AAL systems

This talk will address the issue of privacy preservation in ambient assisted living (AAL) applications. AAL systems that make use of audio and video can support the daily life of elderly and frail people in a situation-dependent and unobtrusive way. However, such systems can also pose a potential threat to the security of the monitored individuals as well as an intrusion on their privacy.  We will review various methods for privacy preservation and secure handling of personal data in AAL systems with a particular focus on technical approaches and the use of communication technologies and protocols.
